Banks: Positive financials

Thursday, 10 February 2022 Reading time : 2 minutes

Today, Bank Vontobel can shine with excellent results. Earnings after taxes increased by 48 percent to CHF 384 million. The strongest sources of income are the two divisions of wealth management and asset management, which are more stable than traditional investment banking.

In addition to Bank Vontobel, UBS and Julius Baer also presented convincing financial results for 2021 last week. The world's largest wealth manager, UBS, reported its best financial result since 2006 at USD 7.4 billion. Assets under management in Wealth Management are at a record USD 4,600 billion. The "pure-play" private bank Julius Baer was even able to achieve the highest consolidated profit in its history with CHF 1,082 million.

In addition to the Swiss private banks, European and American names have also been operating very profitably for a long time. Comparatively attractive coupons can be achieved even with a low barrier of 60%.
