Accelleron and ABB: Successful Independence

Friday, 25 July 2025 Reading time : 2 minutes

Almost three years ago, in October 2022, the industrial group ABB spun off its turbocharger division, launching it as an independent company under the name Accelleron. Both companies have enjoyed successful development since then, as the latest financial figures show.

Accelleron is trading at an all-time high: After raising its revenue guidance for 2025, the company has attracted the attention of investors. In a challenging global market environment characterised by geopolitical and economic uncertainties, Accelleron's business has demonstrated remarkable resilience. Its performance in the first half of the year highlights the strength and adaptability of the group, which has performed well since its spin-off from ABB. This is also reflected in the share price: since its IPO in October 2022, Accelleron shares have risen by around 320% (total return, as of July 24, 2025), clearly outperforming the Swiss market as a whole (SPI: +27.60%).

ABB reports record order intake: ABB shares jumped after the publication of strong half-year earnings and are approaching their annual high of CHF 54.00. The company has thus recovered from the setback in spring when the announcement of US tariff plans on 2 April (Liberation Day) caused the share price to fall to around CHF 39. Particularly noteworthy is the record order intake, which was mainly driven by higher demand from the US, as ABB reported. Broken down by business unit, it was the Electrification and Process Automation divisions that recorded the highest growth in order volumes.
