Hedging Currency Risks: Quanto Products on US Technology Stocks

Tuesday, 15 October 2024 Reading time : 2 minutes

The US technology index Nasdaq Composite is slowly approaching its highs again. Over the summer, the enthusiasm for US technology stocks took a hit, causing the index to fall. Tech stocks lost up to 13% within a few weeks of the index hitting a new record high at the beginning of July. Since the summer lull, the Nasdaq Composite has slowly recovered, although it is still trading slightly below its all-time high.

The coming weeks are likely to remain turbulent as tech giants report their quarterly results and face high expectations.

For investors who are interested in yield enhancement products on the US tech giants but do not want to take on any currency risk, our current subscription range offers Swiss franc products with a quanto feature: thanks to a built-in quanto option (Quantity Adjusted Option), exchange rate risks are hedged.
